With the liquid lipstick trend, a lot of complaints from fans have been that they often leave their lips high and dry. So, seeing a full color lip oil is refreshing while still being trendy. The NYX Slip Tease Full Color Lip Oils are interesting because I did not know what to expect. Actually, I was under the impression that they would glide on (which they did) and stay slightly glossy (they didn’t – they actually dry matte) while keeping my lips comfortable (yes, extremely comfortable and lightweight). I picked up 4 colors because I wanted to experiment with a variety of shades.
The colors I picked up?
- NYX Beyond Basic
- NYX Lowkey
- NYX Bang Bang
- NYX Fatal Attraction
As I mentioned briefly above, these glide on like silk, leaving full pigmentation, and then drying down to a soft focus matte look. These don’t give me opaque liquid lipstick vibes. In fact, they kind of remind me of blotted lips by ColourPop. They are a great transition shade if you enjoy a toned down lip. You can, actually, layer them up, but it kind of defeats the purpose of a lightweight feel. I did build up Fatal Attraction when I wore it out (not in the pictures above), and it still felt amazing on. It transfers a little, but not enough to fade completely. It actually wears longer than most liquid lipsticks I own because I was able to eat and drink without it gone completely and looked almost fresh. I didn’t expect this since it’s considered a lip oil, so I was pleasantly surprised!
What do you think of these lip oils?
