Happy Valentine’s Day!
The liquid lipstick revolution may be coming to a halt. OR, bullet lipsticks may just be coming up… again. I mean, they are the OG, aren’t they? ColourPop already has a line of lipsticks in the form of Lippie Stix, but they decided to add the Lux Lipstick to their line-up, and as you can tell from the name, they are definitely luxurious. Upon trying them, I immediately was reminded of some bullet lipsticks from other name brands, so I will be discussing that at the conclusion of the lip swatches and #FOTDs, so that if you’re still planning to try the ColourPop Lux Lipsticks, you can kind of get an idea of what you’re going to get! But, spoiler alert, $7 for a luxury lipstick is pretty much a steal. Are you ready to take a look at the 24 Lux Lipsticks from the brand new line-up + the LIMITED EDITION Pinkies Up? You might want to grab a snack and a drink because this is going to be a very long post thus obviously, picture heavy.
The lipsticks are encased in beautiful rose gold, and they feel lux, as well. The bullet is stamped with stars, and is just an all-around beautiful product. I also adore the boxes, which have gold lettering. There were limited quantities of the vault, which have been restocked, and I’m not sure if they will restock again, but the entire collection is definitely available for purchase.

The formula of these is definitely lux. The lipstick goes on pigmented and creamy, but sometimes, one swipe doesn’t give the color you see. While applying 27, it broke at the base, so keep in mind that these are a little delicate. I’m disappointed that it broke, but it’s really nobody’s fault but my own, so please, be gentle when applying your ColourPop Lux Lipsticks! The only ones that I didn’t enjoy were Boy and Cheetah – formula-wise – because they were patchy and that’s probably because it’s white-toned. As you may know, I have a thing AGAINST white-toned lip products because they – most of the time – are patchy and chalky. The other shades, however, were excellent! They went on opaque, pigmented, and look smooth. These are forgiving on the lips, BUT… I would still recommend wearing a lip balm of sorts BEFORE wearing and exfoliating. I said they reminded me of other brand name lipsticks, so let me tell you which ones I thought they were most like! They are most like Smashbox Be Legendary lipsticks and Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks. The wear time is excellent on these for a bullet lipstick. These have a sheen, as you can see, and qualify more as a satin finish than a demi-matte to me. Yes, they do matteify as time goes by, and as you eat and drink, but they will also transfer. They do not bleed, and a lip liner is not completely necessary unless you plan to eat and drink while wearing them. I do hope they bring out more colors, though, because they are really nice.
My favorites? Ghosted, Gallop, Lay Over and 27
