When it comes to a cold, refreshing, and carbonated drink, one of my favorites is Diet Dr Pepper® because of its uniquely delicious flavor. A drink like Diet Dr Pepper often inspires me to work on DIY projects, such as a fun 3D pop art because it allows me to savor the moment and relax during my hard earned moments. It also is a great time to work on an adult coloring book for adults while you listen to rock star, Lil’ Sweet’s album. And, what’s better? If you purchase $10 worth of Diet Dr Pepper in any one transaction, you will receive a $5 Walmart eGift card by uploading your receipt to drpepper.com/walmart.

The adult coloring book is a great way to let off some steam and create a fun piece of artwork, as well.

Here’s how it works:

And, here’s the finished piece of art.

The colors of Diet Dr Pepper always inspire me, as I’m always intrigued by black cherry, so I decided to create a 3D pop (get the pun?) artwork that can be either gifted or kept to decorate! This DIY 3D pop artwork is the perfect way to enjoy your Diet Dr Pepper and create something fun! The best thing about this art project is that EVERYTHING can be found at Walmart! After purchasing $10 worth of Diet Dr Pepper (in one transaction), you get a $5 Walmart eGift card, which is great to put toward the purchase all of the art supplies for the project.

How to: Create 3D Diet Dr Pepper Pop Artwork

Step 1: Gather supplies.

  • Empty (and clean) Diet Dr Pepper can
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pipe cleaners or a thick straw
  • Handmade lip stencil
  • Acrylic paint (choose like colors of Diet Dr Pepper)
  • Sponge brushes of various shapes and sizes
  • Canvas

Step 2: Simply cut out lip shapes out of posterboard and use them to apply the lip print onto the canvas. I painted mine and “sponged” it on and later used the sponge brush to fill in the lips.

Step 3: Once dry, line the lips with the sponge brush or a paint brush, and add “texture” to the lips.

Step 4: Using hot glue (carefully), attach the clean can of Diet Dr Pepper at a slant (toward the lips). Twist the pipe cleaners to make a straw and hot glue onto the inside of can and lips. You can also use a real straw, if you prefer.

Step 5: Using the metallic/gunmetal shade, outline your sponge stippler and create “bubbles” anywhere on your canvas. These do not have to be completely perfect – just have fun with it!

Step 6: Admire your finished project!

And pin it for later!

How will you use YOUR sweet afternoon break with Diet Dr Pepper?
