We’re well into cold/flu season, and you know what that means! My son actually started a new school yesterday, and I know that his new routine and exposure to new people and environments can mean new germs, as well. This doesn’t mean just him – in fact – the entire family also gets exposed to all the icky-sicky germs, too! Because I already knew that we would be entering the cold/flu season and going back-to-school (take 2), I had already stocked up on all necessities, such as Robitussin®, for any sicknesses. The last thing you need to do when you have a cold or the flu is go out into the cold to get some medicine or any other essentials.
Thinking back to my childhood, sick days usually consisted of tons of crafts to keep me busy and relaxed, so I decided to create an activity for my little one (and this activity is perfect sick or healthy and even rain or shine, of course!) in way of a DIY Pillow Pal. Walmart has been my go-to for Robitussin® DM Max Strength and for all my craft supplies, such as a pillow case to doodle on and the fabric markers themselves.
DIY PILLOW PAL
Step 1: Gather supplies.
- Pillow case of your choice
- Fabric markers
- (Optional) Fabric paint
- (Optional) Felt
- (Optional) Embellishments, such as ribbons, glitters, etc.
Step 2: Draw on eyes for your pillow pal.
Step 2: Draw on a nose. We decided to create a literal button nose!
Step 3: Draw on a mouth. Add any finishing touches. And, then, according to the directions on your fabric markers package, either put the pillow case in the dryer for the marker to set or iron.
Clear cough from your schedule with Robitussin® (use as directed), and create a DIY Pillow Pal!
