We’ve all heard the expression: You are what you eat! So, why not be nourished and fortified so that you are at your very best? Another important motto is to make sure you eat breakfast and keep snacks always at hand, so you can always nourish what’s next! One of my favorite places to go is the zoo. Ever since I was a child, I’ve felt so connected, active, and alert at the zoo, so I take my son almost once a week to get a good, healthy walk in ways of a zoo trek and to learn more about the creatures on our planet. We always take our own snacks because we love to sit under the shade of a good tree, enjoy the fresh air, and frequently stop for good eating (Note: I have a little boy!). My choice of snacks? Kellogg’s® Special K® Cereal, Kellogg’s® Special K® Protein Meal Bar, Kellogg’s® Special K® Pastry Crisps, and Kellogg’s® Special K® Protein Shake because they taste good and fuel my inner strength so that I can meet my daily steps goal! But, let’s discuss how I nourish what’s next!
Nourishing & Fortifying What’s Next with Kellogg’s® Special K®
On the way to the zoo is Fred Meyer, which has all the Kellogg’s® Special K® products I need to nourish and fortify myself to reach any goals I set up for myself. I love the fact that everything is easy-to-find, and I can pick up a few additional non-food items that I would need for the zoo, such as hats and sunscreen!
Step 1: First things first, before heading out to the zoo on a lovely morning, I make sure that breakfast has been had! Without breakfast, I would simply not have the energy to reach my daily step goal.
Step 2: Pack up all the Kellogg’s® Special K® Protein Meal Bars, Pastry Crisps, and Protein Shakes. I keep them in my cooler tote so that they can stay fresh all day long!
Step 3: Don’t forget to enjoy your zoo trek and see shows, animals, and more – like, I don’t know – meet the zoo animal ambassador (a Knobbed Hornbill named Blueberry) and get face paint!
Step 4: Stop for snacks throughout the day in shaded areas and enjoy the fresh air (Hint: Try not to eat close to the otters or the farm animals. I think you understand why!)
Step 5: After you’ve enjoyed seeing all that there is to see and walked where there is to walk, you may check your step tracker and see that you have reached your steps goal and then some!
