The sun is warmer and brighter hinting that we are in our summer solstice. What this also means is we need to ensure that we are protected from harmful UV rays. Since we live in a climate where we don’t get to see much sun (until the summer), it brings us to value it a whole lot more! Upon spotting the New Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration Weightless Lotion Sunscreen Pump at Target in the Beauty/Sun Care section, I decided this needed to come home with me because of its heavenly scent, cool swirl appearance, and of course, its protective qualities!

When searching for a sunscreen, the thing you should look for is SPF 15 or higher and broad spectrum, multi spectrum or UVA/UVB protection on sunscreen labels to assure that it contains UVA protection. Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration Weightless Sunscreen provides SPF 30 along with 12-hours of moisturization and broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. The hydrating silk ribbons that you see in the bottle provides weightless protection leaving your skin feeling soft and pampered – protection that you won’t even notice because it’s so lightweight!

Staying hydrated on a hot summer day/night is just as important, and my favorite way is by making my Hawaiian Tropic Pineapple Mango Slushee, which gives you a delicious, healthy, and luxurious texture with the ability to keep you hydrated with the power of coconut water. Protecting my skin with Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration Weightless Sunscreen and sipping on this Pineapple Mango Slushee gives me the absolute paradise experience.

To make your own Hawaiian Tropic Pineapple Mango Slushee, follow these easy steps!

Step 1: Grab your personal blender! (You can also make this in your regular-sized blender.)

Step 2: Add about 1/2 cup of frozen fresh pineapple and mango.

Step 3: Add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of coconut water. If you want a textured slushee, add less coconut water:fruit.

Step 4: Blend until you get a slush consistency! Add ice or more frozen fruits if needed.

Step 5: Pour into glass/garnish and apply Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration Weightless Sunscreen and hang out in the sun! (And, if in the event, your skin gets more sun than you asked for, apply the Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration After Sun Lotion to soothe and cool.)

How do YOU stay protected during the summertime?! Keep hydrated and protected! #SummerSunCare
