Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment Review

Before I go to bed, the last thing in my skincare routine is actually exfoliating and moisturizing my lips. Since I’m always testing new lipsticks and wearing harsh matte liquid lipsticks, this is a must in my routine. When Milani released these lip treatments, I was intrigued and wanted them in my routine immediately. I was excited when I was given the opportunity to test them out, so let’s discuss!

The “flavors” I was sent to try out were: KITCHEN
– Moisturizing Almond Coco
– Healing Lemon Honey
– Rejuvenating Peach Mango
– Revitalizing Grapefruit

I gave each of them a try on a separate day, as not to mix and give an inaccurate review, and this is what I gathered. Each of them has a different scent, which is delicate and natural, and they all keep the lips supple and almost brand new.

Milani states, “All lip oils are formulated with the natural healing power of Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil. As an added benefit, each shade is infused with different nutrient-dense oils that treat a specific concern.”

The applicator is large, and is probably the equivalent of 3 – 4 Q-tips. Definitely not the same size as a lip gloss/liquid lipstick applicator, but I found that it curved beautifully along the lips and covered each “nook and cranny” giving your lips all the nourishment it desired. I did, however, have one gripe with the product. I found that the applicator, being large and sponge-like, soaked up most of the oil leaving the container with half the amount of product (see above – this is even before use) as expected, which makes sense since the applicator itself takes up so much room and probably would cause the treatment to overflow if filled to the top, but to me, that makes it disappointing as you are actually paying for less product. The feel of the oil on the lips is not completely heavy, but you will notice that you have something on your lips, much like a lip balm. It is not greasy and should not “bleed” onto the skin outside of your lips. My lips really felt rejuvenated and refreshed after trying each one, and I will be continuing to use them until they are finished. I have yet to find them in-store, so if I do find them, I will definitely be repurchasing a couple (on sale or with coupon) for the winter months to keep my lips fresh and ready for the next lipstick!

What do you think? Have you tried this lip treatment? What did you think about them?

  1. How have I never considered a lip treatment?! That needs to change now!!!

  2. I purchased one when it first came out, and wasn’t too thrilled about it. Maybe because I am not used to oils — I’ve typically used more waxy types of lip balms. But when I would use this oil treatment I just didn’t notice much of a difference in my lips after wearing it. I was also experience the DRIEST LIPS OF MY LIFE when I tested it out, so maybe they were just too dry, lol. But thank you for a thorough review!

  3. These look really nice! There’s nothing like a bit of oil for moisture. How do you like it compared to an exfoliant + balm treatment?

    • It surely wouldn’t replace exfoliation and balm treatment. It would be best using those on a lipstick day off. Exfoliation and balm before bed, for sure!

  4. The lip oil looks so light and nourishing.

  5. These sound really nice, but it’s crazy how little product you get in the tube! Your lips look amazingly healthy for all the matte lipstick swatches you do!!

  6. I’m on the fence about these but I believe my lips were pretty dry too when I tried them

  7. I keep checking these out. I am a wax-hater, but I cant seem to pull the trigger on these.

  8. Oh, I hadn’t noticed these in my drugstore yet. I’ll have to keep an eye out and try them when I can.
