So, back to reality! I was in India for 2 weeks on vacation, and I’m back! I had an excellent time, but it’s good to be home (and I can’t wait to share my humble makeup haul). Before I left, I was sent Velvet 59 by Paris Manning Pink Cadillac to share how it represents the 2016 Pantone color, Rose Quartz. I had also purchased Kai-Lea, so I decided to post the two alongside one another. Let’s get right to it!
Velvet 59 by Paris Manning has such gorgeous packaging. The liquid lipsticks come in a beautiful box, and are also packaged in gorgeous tubes. They are definitely unique, in terms of packaging.
L-R: Kai-Lea, Pink Cadillac
The applicator is stick straight and is a little difficult to use, but is ideal for lining. I’m more of a slanted doe foot applicator kind of gal.

The Matte to the Max Liquid Lipstick in Pink Cadillac is a great representation for the Pantone 2016 shade in Rose Quartz. This milky pink is quite opaque and had no issues. I usually expect shades with white to be patchy and troublesome to work with, but this was a dream to work with. I don’t especially love how it looks on my skintone (for obvious reasons) but this would be a terrific shade to lighten certain shades.
The color I purchased myself was Kai-Lea, a beautiful rosy medium pink. I feel I have nothing similar in my collection, and the shade is quite flattering!
Overall, I was really won over by the beautiful, classy packaging of Velvet 59 by Paris Manning. I also was quite impressed by the young lady who created the brand. I am always in awe of young adult entrepreneurs. The liquid lipsticks are comparable to the ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks in formula. They do, in fact, dry quickly and adhere completely to the lips, so make sure you are exfoliating and moisturizing your lips before wear. They are long-lasting, and I hope Paris Manning adds to the line because I am absolutely smitten with the packaging and formula.
