You’re in liquid lipstick station and headquarters, so of course, here we are with another brand of liquid lipsticks. This time, NYX Cosmetics. These released awhile back, but I like to share my thoughts and swatches of these, anyhow. You already know that NYX has Soft Matte Creams, and these are a lot similar, in my opinion. These were packaged to be like matte liquid lipsticks, but these are much more similar to their “not-so-little” sisters, Soft Matte Creams. Let’s take a look.
The NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks we have today are:
– Cherry Skies
– Life’s a Beach
The applicator is a doe foot that makes it easy to line and apply. The color you see below is Vintage.
The packaging is alright – nothing to write home about. It does feature the color on the outside, but I would be aware as it’s not identical BUT it is quite similar to the color you will get. What I did think was cute about the packaging was the faux black gem at the top.
Cherry Skies is a deep cherry red, and it is probably my favorite of the bunch. This color is extremely flattering, and it would look amazing on every skintone out there!
Life’s a Beach is a peach-hued pink, but on me, it looks more like a baby hot pink, and to me, that’s not my color, at all. This one was a little patchy, sheer, and uneven.
Vintage is a brown-toned muted burgundy. This was the one I was most excited about!
Now, let’s discuss the formula of these. They are very much like the NYX Soft Matte Creams but I felt that the darker colors were a little more opaque. I had strange luck with the deeper NYX Soft Matte Creams because they were patchy. These were creamier, thicker and definitely lasted much longer because they adhered to the lips. These are not transfer proof, but they did last me a few hours like I hoped. I hope they do bring out more colors because it’s a comfortable formula.
So what do you think? Buy or pass?
