Bringing in the New Year with Borghese Swatches and Review

Wishing you all a Happy New Year with double the prosperity, wealth, health, luck, and love!

When NYE is mentioned, we usually think glitz and glam. I definitely do think along the lines of sparkle and shimmer. There are a few products that we will be mentioning in this post, so let’s jump right into it.

Here are some items we will be discussing:
– Borghese Prima Viso Face Primer
– Borghese Fango Purificante Clay Cleanser
– Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette
– Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lipgloss in Spark and Simmer
– Borghese Grappa Lipstick
– Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorEdge Eye Liner
– Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara

Starting off with the primer, the Borghese Prima Face Primer is a clear primer that does not feel greasy at all. In fact, it was moisturizing. I had skipped moisturizer just to test – it did leave a few dry spots where I usually do have them, but it was light and gave a perfectly smooth surface to work upon. Since I used a matte foundation, it did stay matte.

The Borghese Fango Purificante Clay Cleanser is such a refreshing cleanser. I’m always weary of trying a presssamplestickernew skincare or foundation because my skin is sensitive, and of course, since I blog about makeup looks, I have to make sure my skin is in prime condition to showcase them to the best of my ability. I warily tried this cleanser, but I have decided to use this once a week instead of daily like it says. It is probably the most gentle of clay cleansers I have ever tried. It smells citrusy with a hint of pepper and that is one of my favorite scents because it really awakens the senses. The mask is not one you have to leave on – you simply rinse your face with water then lather on the clay cleanser evenly on the face avoiding the eyes and then rinse with warm water.

I’m a sucker for eyeshadow palettes, so I was really excited to receive the Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette, which has 12 lovely neutral shades that are lovely on all skintones. What you will see below is a simple neutral eye look, but I did try a sultry, smoky eye later on, but did not get pictures of it. I will recreate it for another post, and tag this post, so stay tuned!

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lipgloss in Spark and Simmer are two beautiful shimmery lipglosses that add just the right of sparkle. They are so moisturizing and light and look perfect without being too chunky!

Top to Bottom: Spark, Simmer

Spark is a more bronze toned lipgloss:

Simmer is a more silvery shimmer lipgloss:

The Grappa Lipstick is a gorgeous berry lipstick with a beautiful creme finish. The last is like any other creme lpstick – it did wear off gracefully and lasted a decent amount of time.

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorEdge Eye Liner and Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara definitely add the depth you need to any eye look. I am a huge fan of the Borghese eye liner now because not only does it go on deep and dark but it lasted a good amount of time even with my watery, allergy-infested eyes. I did have to line them again after my eyes watered once or twice, but it was pretty decent. The mascara is fantastic – it lasted a great amount of time without getting flaky.

See above to see how it looked on my eyes.

What do you think of these products? Which one is going to be part of your makeup arsenal in 2016?
