Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny Velour Liquid Lipstick Swatches and Review

Here we are again with another Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick! If you’re interested in seeing the other shades I own, check it out HERE. Androgyny is just that – a shade difficult to describe and hard to classify – and perfection in every way and flattering to each and every skintone.

Androgyny

Housed in a white box/lid instead of a pink box/lid, this LIMITED EDITION PurchasedbyMeStickershade has been determined will re-release in February 2016 (due to popular demand AND a petition) and… wait for it… become PERMANENT!

A lot of people have been discussing the similarities between Androgyny and ColourPop StingRaye, and well, yes, they are very, very close. Let’s take a look!

And, then swatched next to each other on my arm:

AndrogynyVStingRaye

As a lipstick/liquid lipstick junkie, I find a way to justify my purchases, but I do notice I wear ColourPop more often. The formula sits flawlessly on my lips without drying them out too much. Androgyny does emphasize dry lips and is more matte than StingRaye is, so if that makes a difference to you, then Androgyny is definitely the way to go. Androgyny is a great neutral shade, and like above, worn with a dramatic eye looks perfect! StingRaye looks great as an everyday overall look. To me, they are both must-haves, so it’s hard for me to lean one way or the other, but price-wise, ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips are $6, while Jeffree Star Cosmetics is $18, but he does offer FREE shipping sometimes, so keep an eye on his Facebook page, and the packaging is adorable, as well. So, if you like Androgyny, be happy – it will be permanent in February 2016!

What do you think of this lovely, ambiguous shade?
