Now, makeup may be one of my true loves, but I also do love jewelry. I mean, tell me, what one girl doesn’t!? I especially love necklaces and bracelets and rings… I don’t wear earrings because I have really sensitive earlobes AND they get infected quite easily, so I have spared them from the pain. Fun Fact: I had my ears first pierced at age 1 (but stopped wearing them at some point) and then again before my engagement, and then again 1 year after my wedding. Seriously, couldn’t handle the drama with them. Anyways, regardless, I still love jewelry! So, when I was given the opportunity to try Rocksbox for 3 months, I said yes, because I like receiving subscription boxes and love to share them with you, too!!
When I opened my Rocksbox, I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. I’m a sucker for boxes with ribbons. I don’t know why – I just am. Once I opened the box, I was SO excited to see my name. Having a name like mine means you NEVER see it in print. So, seeing this made me smile for sure!
Once you get past that, you come across the REFERRAL card to let you know that you earn $25 for the (possible) purchase of the jewelry in your box. What this means is that you are merely borrowing the jewelry and if you love it enough, you have $10 credit given to you each month to put toward the purchase of one of the pieces in your box. And, if you are able to refer more friends, then you can earn $25 per person.
After you pass the REFERRAL card, you get to the good stuff! You will get a pamphlet PERSONALIZED (again!) and letting you know what pieces you are receiving in your box. Keep this handy (or if you lose it, never fear: go to your profile on Rocksbox where you will be able to find the pieces you should have in hand), so you can round them up (if you aren’t loving them as much as you thought!) to return. If you do not return a piece, the piece will be charged to your credit card, as you are required to put this information in when you subscribe.
I received the following three pieces of jewelry.
Also, before I forget to mention, there’s a wishlist on the Rocksbox site where you can select a few pieces that you like/love to hopefully get the next time, so that you can use that $10 credit (that expires at the end of the month). You can return your box AS OFTEN as you like within the month. This is awesome because it gives you the opportunity to try out a few pieces and even wear them out without really making a commitment. The only true commitment is $19/month, but if you keep your eyes peeled, you can get a discount on the subscription price.
So, let’s check out the pieces I received!
Again, the pieces I received were:
Necklace #1: Perry Street Adrianna Necklace ($64 $51 Insider’s Price)
My thoughts: I love pieces like this, but I don’t think I’d wear this often, and for the price, I can’t justify it.
Necklace #2: Gorjana Pressed Taner Long Necklace ($95 $76 Insiders’ Price)
My thoughts: I really love this one, so when I do have the urge to splurge, this will definitely be the one, especially with my $10 off or if I do get any referral cash. *Wink Wink*
Necklace #3: Gorjana Taner Shimmer Necklace in Rose Gold ($60 $48 Insiders’ Price)
My thoughts: Okay, this one. I really like this one. Sweet and simple. AND Rose Gold. AND the price. With the $10, it’d be a great price, so maybe I’ll grab this one. Who knows! 😉
And another shot of Necklace #1:
So, for this box, I am sending all 3 back and hoping for one that will steal my heart in the next box. How do you return? Simple. When you receive your Rocksbox, please don’t RIP through it like all your other packages (What? I’m guilty of this, as well! Don’t deny it. Haha!) Open it carefully, as it will be the same envelope you send it back in. They provide you with the return label, so you don’t have to worry about that part, either. Easy peasy! Again, if you lose it, go to your profile and find the link to PRINT RETURN SHIPPING LABEL under your Current Rocksbox Set tab.
Overall, I must say that Rocksbox is a unique subscription box that allows you to borrow jewelry and then have the opportunity to purchase it. I do have to say that I’m a little impatient when it comes to shopping and like to look at a LOT of stuff rather than a few (3, in this case) at a time. BUT, I do like the fact that this could introduce me to something I wouldn’t normally bring home. And, I really love the fact that you can send it back as OFTEN as you like, so you can hold on to that $10 to spend it on one you really love. I do wish they had some affordable pieces or offer a piece or small gift that was complimentary. But, that’s just me.
Now, for the fun part! If this really whet your appetite to get jewelry sent to you to try and buy, then you can use the following code: shipragtanejaxoxo for a FREE box on me! You’re welcome. 😉
