DIY Custom Graffiti Shirt while you #RecycleYourPeriodPad with Poise

Having an almost 4-year-old means I need to come up with new activities all the time. So, when I heard I’d need to #RecycleYourPeriodPad with Poise and needed a creative project, I immediately thought of this paint project that needed a sponge, for which I used a CLEAN period pad instead. So, get your white shirts/tanks, paint colors of your choice and a clean period pad and follow along with me on this exciting project.

Did you know that 1 out of 3 women experience LBL, otherwise known as Light Bladder Leakage? To kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, some women are using their period pads, but they are not receiving the coverage they really need. That’s where Poise comes in.

What is LBL?
-One in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise.
-Weak pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, childbirth and weight gain are just a few LBL contributors.

Dryness matters!! And, this Summer, don’t give up on your normal day-to-day activities because you’re afraid of incontinence.

9

What cause LBL?

Just as no two women are alike, there’s no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
•Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
•Being overweight
•Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s disease
•Bladder or urinary tract infections
•Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)

12

How can I manage my LBL?
Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night. Poise’s pads and liners are specifically designed for LBL, which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with light bladder leaks.

My project with the miscellaneous period pads was to use them as a sponge for my son to create a custom graffiti shirt.

Items needed for DIY Graffiti Project:
– White (or any color) T-Shirt of YOUR choice – I used a razorback tank top that needed a splash of color
– Fabric paint colors of YOUR choice – I used 3 shades
– NEW Period Pads in lieu of Sponges – I chose overnight ones so that they were thick enough to protect my son’s hands and wrapped it around to keep his hands equally clean.

Directions: Make random squiggly lines and then let your child or even yourself sponge at it with your clean period pad wrapped around your hand in random motions and enjoy your custom graffiti shirt. And remember, art is NOT perfect.

  1. I was slightly afraid of this post when I first saw the title, lol! That’s a really cute idea, and I like that it was able to keep your adorable boy’s hands free of paint! I’m 33 weeks pregnant now, and lbl is something I know about all too well right now. 😛

    • The hashtag is something unfortunate, but it is definitely a stigma that needs breaking, and I guess that’s what they came up with. Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery! 😗

  2. Aw I love that you involved your little one in this DIY! And just think, down the line you can use these pics for blackmail 😉

  3. What a great project!

  4. OMG, that’s very resourceful of you! Who would’ve thought of using period pa?!!!

  5. Gotta keep em entertained.

  6. Girl… this is such a fun idea. I want to do something like this because I have a ton of puffy paints that don’t get use.

  7. Love how the Tee turned out, so creative! Also loving your new(ish) profile pic!
