I participated in an Easter Exchange, and 2 other gifts I received were the Revlon Sultry ColorBurst Matte Balm and Essence Soft Berry Lip Liner. I was really excited about this because I’m stuck in the marsala rut and I am enjoying pinks, browns and pink browns, etc. Let’s take a look at these beautiful shades!
Revlon Sultry Matte Balm is a gorgeous rosy pink with brown undertones. This will be flattering for many, if not all skintones.
And, then there’s the Essence Soft Berry Lip Liner. I think I swooned when I applied this. This is such a PERFECT lip color, and it’s only $1.49! I am probably going to grab each color next time.
And, then together, these two were a match made in Makeup Heaven! *Sighs*
And, then here’s a better look at how these colors look combined:
And, now for a little bit of comparing. When I applied Revlon Sultry Matte Balm, I was POSITIVE I was seeing Gerard Cosmetics Berry Smoothie, one of my all-time favorite lipsticks.
So, is it or is it not? Let’s take a look:
L-R: Revlon Sultry Matte Balm, Gerard Cosmetics Berry Smoothie, and Essence Soft Berry topped with Revlon Sultry
When I swatched them side-by-side, Revlon Sultry Matte Balm seemed richer with more of a brown undertone, yet on the lips it was much brighter. The formula on all of these lipsticks is comfortable, so I would recommend them all, BUT I feel that Revlon Sultry is AMAZING quality infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter all for a drugstore brand (has a peppermint scent/feel, which really works well for my lips), but you can also find Gerard Cosmetics for a great price with their many coupon codes. The lip liner is only $1.49, so grab them all! That’s such an awesome deal.
And, a quick recap of the colors we talked about:
What do you think about these shades? Have you tried them?
