As we have all seen by now, the color of the year is the gorgeous marsala! There are many lovely hues of this color, but this is basically what it looks like! I am all about this shade because it is just so flattering.
Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Orchid products were gorgeous last year, and I only managed to get the Cheek Trio (months later) and I definitely was ready to jump for the Marsala Cheek Trio. The trio has 2 blushes and a highlighter. Let’s take a closer look.
First, see how the trios look quite similar in design. They are quite sleek and great for travel.
Now, a closer look at the Sephora + Pantone Universe Marsala Shimmering Cheek Trio.
The first one is highlighter, Spanish Villa:
The 2nd one is blush, Coral Pink:
The 3rd one is blush, Marsala:
The Shimmering Cheek Trio is definitely a piece from the collection worth getting! It’s absolutely gorgeous and gives you a nice flush. The Marsala blush is so extremely pigmented that when I dipped my brush in it and applied, it was as deep and dark as the blush itself. I had to remove and use a SUPER light hand, add, and blend for a perfect blush. The highlighter is also quite pigmented and I would highly recommend using a fan brush to apply, as I did. I applied this on the center of my forehead, the peaks of my cheekbones, and cupid’s bow. I found Coral Pink to be a little chalky and not as spectacular as the other two, but it works nicely as a highlighter.
The Marsala Mascara & Brow Highlighter is another piece from the Sephora + Pantone Universe Collection that is quite stunning. I love wearing burgundy mascara and highlighting my brows with burgundy mascara, as well, as it compliments my skintone, brown eyes and black hair. So, this was a piece I was looking forward to.
It is larger than an average mascara. As you can see, it is almost double the size.
I love how it felt on my eyebrows. It did not look crunchy or gelled up. I love that it still looked quite natural on my brows. I didn’t apply on my eyelashes because I felt like I had already overdone it on Marsala.
Next, we have the Lip Layering Collection. This consists of 5 glossy lip pencils. Some are sheer, some are creamy, and they are also buildable. These shades are perfect to “soften, plump, and create dimension in the lips while adding shine and retaining a natural nude look. The creamy, hydrating formula contains hyaluronic filling spheres for plumping, as well as resveratrol, an antioxidant derived from red wine grapes. These actives provide hydration and long-term antiaging benefits”.
L-R: Marsala, Dusty Cedar, Canyon Clay, Rose Dawn, and Muted Clay
These are a great travel-size – fits perfectly into your purse or even pocket and be on trend!
Starting off with Marsala:
Dusty Cedar:
Canyon Clay:
Rose Dawn:
Muted Clay:
The Lip Layering Collection is definitely worthwhile if you enjoy the Marsala shades and/or love neutrals. They are quite flattering with my skintone, except for Rose Dawn, but I see this being a great “mixer” with a dark liner, lipstick and/or lipgloss.
As you can see, I had a LOT of Marsala going on, and this is why I only used the Marsala Mascara/Brow Highlighter only on the brows. On the eyes is the Lime Crime Venus Palette (Review COMING SOON), Marsala Shimmering Cheek Trio on face. Redken Rebel Without A Coral as highlights.
I, especially, would LOVE the eyeshadow palette and have my sights on it. The Sephora + Pantone Universe Pure Marsala Matte Lip Creme lipstick is IDENTICAL to Maybelline Touch of Spice, so if you want to save money, that’s a dupe for you!
