Zoya MatteVelvet Collection Photos, Swatches, and Review

Zoya brought back the MatteVelvets and I have to say that if you are a fan of mattes/suedes, then these are must haves! I missed them both times they were released, so I was really excited to have these. I remember my first blog post ever was with Mitzi, a Zoya MatteVelvet chartreuse green, so this is also special for me. Shall we take a looksee? Each of them shows 3 coats.

Starting off with Dovima, “a smoky charcoal-black with strong silver shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish” is definitely a great statement nail for your little black dress if you don’t like IN YOUR FACE sparkle. It kind of reminds me of chalkboard nails, so get your doodling nail art pens handy, if you like to decorate!

When I had originally missed out on these, Loredana was on my wishlist really badly because it was such a sassy shade: “medium gunmetal grey, packed with silvery shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish” And, it is everything and more! Such a beautiful shade.

You may remember the Zoya MatteVelvet Lipstick that was inspired by Posh, “a medium cool-toned wine red with metallic red shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish”. What a remarkably sexy red it is too. And, the matte finish adds that certain edge. I love this shade!!

If you’re like me and have an “unhealthy” obsession with magentas, radiant orchids and rich violets, then Harlow is for you!  Described as “a rich, saturated rose plum packed with sparkling metallic shimmer in a velvety MATTEVELVET finish”, this shade is surely to stun!

Savita, “a bold, vibrant medium purple with strong red and gold shimmer with a velvet MATTEVELVET finish” is perfect for those feeling a bit mysterious! If you love purple as much as me, this one is a must have!

Saving my favorite for last! I know, I know, it’s hard to choose a favorite, but Veruschka, “a deep evergreen garnished with strong metallic shimmer in a velvety MATTEVELVET finish”, is just amazing! Harlow comes a close 2nd!

These MatteVelvets are simply stunning and the matte finish gives it an elegance. They can obviously be made glossy with your favorite top coat. They do take time to dry, and the best way to apply is to let it dry in between coats, especially if you want a smooth finish. Also, if you have a the Zoya MatteVelvet top coat, then you can use this as a top coat to protect it from chipping.

And, for the recap:
