What I love about MAC is the fact that they bring back beloved shades and repromote them. What I dislike is the fact that they take SO long to do so and sometimes they don’t bring the shade back at all. I recently received Icon (discontinued) in a swap, and it was brought back with the MAC Artificially Wild Collection. I didn’t take a picture of the bullet because I used it before I could get a picture and it wasn’t quite as pristine as Shitaki. But, that’s besides the point. I always wanted Shitaki or Shitake (spelled so many different ways on the MAC site and box). The actual mushrooms are spelled shiitake from what I know. Anyways, digressing again, I was thrilled beyond bits that they were re-releasing both of these, and that I would finally have my chance at Shitaki. I received it last night, and I’m SO glad I picked it up.
Shitaki is such a wonderful shade, and it lasted me 5 hours (even through snacks and drinking from a water bottle) and it is a Glaze finish. Big win!! I was impressed with the shade on me, as I’m usually not into nudes or browns, but lately, I have been on a brown kick. And, I’m wanting EVERYTHING brown. It must be the Fall season upon us. 🙂
And, Icon is a very unusual frost, and it totally fits the theme of Artificially Wild, so I guess that’s why it was brought back. I didn’t get another one because with the similar Viva Glam Rihanna 2 coming out – I think I’m covered. :s 😛 I do, however, enjoy this shade because it is so unusual. I think with the *NEW* Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipglass, it will be phenom! I would pair this shade with an equally eccentric eye, but for now, I have it with a copper and gold lid. 😉 Frosts usually last me about the same amount of time as Glazes, if not more.
So, will you be stepping out of YOUR comfort zone into the Artificially Wild?
