Lately, I’ve been wanting to experiment with color – lots of it – but not just on cheeks and lips – on my eyes! I have been splurging on eyeshadows and when I was given the opportunity to review some makeup products from Makeup Revolution, you bet your bottom dollar, I chose Acid Brights Eyeshadow Palette! I also got some other beautiful products to try out, so let’s check them out!!
Let’s start off with the Acid Brights Eyeshadow Palette – it contains some gorgeous brights and also some tame colors – either in shimmers or mattes.
The shades are gorgeous and here I have them layered over a wet surface to give their pigment a boost. Overall, I do see myself using this palette time-and-time again because of the unique shades and their beautiful quality. The white didn’t even show up on me. I was hoping to lay it down as a base for these brights. But, since it was the only one that didn’t show up, I really can’t complain! I used the 1st shade, the lighter blue, the neon green, and the grey to create a fun “Bird of Paradise” look. I didn’t use a primer or base for the look.
Next, let’s talk about the Cover & Conceal Palette in Medium/Dark.
I used the bottom most right for highlight under my eyes and over my cheeks, cupid’s bow, mid-forehead, down the center of my nose, and on the arches of my brows for a subtle highlight (upon which I placed Pink Lights – the highlighter we shall discuss in a second!). I also used the top most right shade to contour my nose and cheekbones.
The Cover & Conceal Palette was perfect for my NC35 (MAC reference) skintone, and I believe that I will be using this quite a bit because it’s versatile, all in one place, and creamy and lightweight to wear.
The Vivid Baked Highlighter in Pink Lights is a soft white-based pink that definitely adds light to areas in your face to brighten and liven up the face. As I mentioned, I used the shade in the Cover & Conceal to lighten and brighten areas in my face, and then I proceeded to highlight the upper cheekbone, the peak of my nose all the way down and the center of my forehead, and cupid’s bow and the lower center of my bottom lip. (I did not use a blush as my eyes and lips were bold already.).
Then, we have the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers in Keep Lying for You (Violet/Radiant Orchid) and I Believe (Soft Pink). These are very similar to the Lime Crime Velvetines and the TooFaced Melted Lipsticks (Keep Lying for You is very similar to Violet). And, I need them ALL.
Keep Lying for You is gorgeous and the epitome of Radiant Orchid. I love this shade – it was smooth and looked like perfection on the lips.
I Believe was not flattering on my skintone, but it was lovely to wear like Keep Lying for You. It did have slight unevenness, but from a distance, it looked great.
I am highly impressed with the quality of Makeup Revolution! I was also extremely impressed by the prices of the products. They are affordable and they also accept Paypal. Here is a little more information on Makeup Revolution:
