KBShimmer Summer 2014 Holographics Swatches/Review

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you’re all having a great start to the weekend! It just recently started raining, so I busted out these babies from KBShimmer – the NEW Summer 2014 Holographics! These 6 beauties are STUNNING! Shall we look at them?!

I also have the Pink Sugar Cuticle Oil Pen to show off to you, but I will share that at the end of the swatches!!

Let’s start!!

PT Young Thing is described as “A platinum silver linear holographic polish”. This one was perfectly opaque in 2 coats and looked like a chrome finish! It was absolutely stunning! Look at the HOLO on this one!! All holo pics are taken with my camera’s flash.

In Bare Form is described as, “A near nude holographic polish”, which almost looked like a white holo on me! Such an angelic shade! WOW. This was 2 coats, but you could definitely top it off with another coat to make it a little more opaque.

Big Tan on Campus‘s name made me giggle. It’s described as, “A light tan-ish brown holographic polish”. It could have been opaque in 3 coats, but the picture below shows 2.

Run! It’s the Coppers! Again, a funny name! LOVE Christy’s names for her polishes! Always something I look forward to. It’s described as, “A metallic copper linear holographic polish”. This is 2 coats. But, I think 3 coats would work well, too.

Goldie Rocks – when it comes to makeup/nail polish – I love, love, love metallics and gold is one of my favorites to wear on my skintone even though I despise gold jewelry. Funny, right? This delicate gold is so soft and beautiful! Described as “A shimmery gold holographic polish”. Thin, so 3 coats would be perfect. Shown below is 2 coats.

And, then finally, a black holo, Stark Raven Mad! This mysterious and sexy black holo is everything and more! I am just in lust with it. Described as, “A deep charcoal linear holographic polish”. Here it is at 2 coats. This is a jelly and needs a little bit of build to it, but you’d be surprised how the 2nd coat makes it completely opaque.

Christy’s line of nail care is just as wonderful. I was fortunate to try the Pink Sugar Cuticle Oil Pen, and it was absolutely amazing and SO easy to use! Let’s take a look:

The applicator is actually a gentle brush that is easy to smooth over cuticles. It smells absolutely divine! I can’t even begin to explain how good it smells. I’m looking at my nails/cuticles hours later and they still look like below (without the shine):

Overall, I have to say that the formula of these holos was absolutely buttery and wonderful. I felt as if the brush fit my nails just so and applied it magically (as if it were being applied by itself!) and that’s how I love my polish! Christy always stuns me with her collections (and the names) and this was no surprise.

The Summer 2014 Collection releases May 23 and houses 12 beautiful polishes.
