Milani Coming Up Roses Powder Blushes 2014 Swatches/Review

Do you guys remember when I posted the Coming Up Roses from last year? You can imagine HOW ecstatic I was to see there were MORE coming out considering I’m a HUGE blush hoarder! 😉 Let’s talk about them!

Coral Cove is a stunning almost-neon coral blush.

Lady Rouge is described as a Hot Red, and let me tell you, this is indeed a HOT red!

Love Potion is a gorgeous dark rose blush. I loved how this matched my lipstick (which is Maybelline Vivid Rose with Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Gold Rush mixed in).

Tea Rose is a little contrast to the other 3. It’s a gorgeous light rose.

Let’s discuss these blushes. They are extremely powdery and you have to use a light hand when you work with these. I did often get a highly pigmented cheek on one side and a dull pigmented cheek on the other, so I usually had to wipe my face with a makeup remover wipe and start over. I tried to shake off the excess when applying to avoid it getting everywhere, and that often helped! I also found using a flat-topped brush (this is the one I opted for: Heavenly Luxe™ Double Airbrush Foundation Brush) worked amazingly!

I do love these, though, even with the fall-out and powdery texture because these are outrageous colors and they are SUPER beautiful and fun! And, beauty is pain, right? I am hoping for MORE, even now.

What do you think? Can you handle the texture for the colors or will you be passing? You can find these at Target, Wal-mart, CVS, and Walgreens.

  1. They are so pretty in their compacts! I’m pretty picky about textures so I’ll have to give them a try before I can make any final conclusions, but the colors are gorgeous!

  2. It looks like there might be a learning curve with these but the color is awesome!!

  3. I ordered these yesterday– I’m glad I did! Thanks for the swatches!

  4. Those are such pretty compacts!
