MAC Retro Matte (Partial) Collection Swatches/Review

As part of my birthday gift (in 10 days, I will be 30 – gasp!), I received some fun money, so I spent it on 3 of the Retro Mattes. Three are actually limited edition, but I only got 2 of them because I’m not such a fan of light pinks. I also grabbed Relentlessly Red, an awesome coral red.

So, let’s see them!

Relentlessly Red is a GORGEOUS (and permanent) coral-toned red. I really love this shade, and I am SO glad it’s permanent. There’s also another shade called All Fired Up, which looks a bit similar but is called a bright fuchsia retro matte (and I’m sure I’ll get it one of these days, to be honest) so I only got this one for now. It wore well and was easy to apply – no tugging really, and the last on these is AMAZING!

Runway Hit (LIMITED EDITION) is an AWESOME peach-nude retro matte. I was in need of a gorgeous, classic nude lippie, and I think this cut the bill – absolutely fabulous!! It was a little tough to apply with a bit of tugging, but I managed to maneuver it well enough to apply it opaquely. One downside about this shade is that it looks a bit dry because of the light color, but you can always apply it over your favorite chapstick/lip balm.

Fixed on Drama (LIMITED EDITION) is a perfect dramatic rich wine retro matte. What a shade – in fact, I’m still wearing it right now (with pajamas) and it’s AMAZING. Super duper haute. It applies a bit streaky and tugged a little, but you have to keep at it to get it opaque. It turned out to be one of my faves – so glad I picked it up!

I’m so glad I picked these up! I’m SO glad they made all of these gorgeous shades! I absolutely love this finish by MAC!

Have you picked up any of these? What do you think of them?

Purchased by me. All opinions are honest and my own.
