Fashion-Inspired Manicure: Sheer Blouse with Watercolor Flowers

I have a favorite blouse that’s deliciously elegant: sheer with aubergine and teal watercolor flowers. Purple and teal are MY favorites, and apparently the colors I seem to hoard in both wardrobe and nail polish alike! So, it’s no big surprise that I wanted to fuse these two FAVORITES together.

This is almost entirely a jelly manicure (OPI Don’t Touch My Tutu, Zoya Frida and Katherine), but I needed the help of Zoya Monica, a gorgeous, vampy eggplant purple to give the manicure some oomph.  Are you ready for this? Because, I am. I can’t wait to share this with you, and I am so ready to recreate this manicure EVERY TIME I wear this blouse because it’s just so chic.

Remember, if you sign up (new account) with, you will receive a coupon in the section labeled PROMOTION CODES for one FREE Zoya. If you add 2 MORE Zoyas to your FREE Zoya, you will also receive FREE shipping! What a GREAT deal!

Here’s a tutorial I created with OPI Funny Bunny, OPI Big Hair, Big Nails, OPI Green-wich Village, and Zoya Rekha (the only one provided for review). Zoom in to read the steps! 🙂

  1. Oh…this is gorgeous!!! I so wish you had also supplied a tutorial showing what kind of brush(es) you used and how you did the actual applying of the polish. This is absolutely stunning!

    • Thank you! All I used were the brushes that are in the nail polish. I just freehanded circles, did the shadowing with Zoya Monica (the opaque one) by applying a teensy amount on the brush, and then adding Frida (teal jelly) wherever I saw fit, but if you’d like, I can definitely do a tutorial sometime in the near future! 🙂

  2. Oh, my, gosh…I can’t believe I didn’t see this in my email until just now. Yes! Please! It would be terrific if you would do a tutorial for this design. I have tried it and it came out a terrible mess so I’d love to see how you do this step-by-step or in a video…whichever way is possible for you to put together a tutorial. This watercolor flower nail design is really beautiful. Thank you!
