I love the movie Hocus Pocus. I have always been a scaredy cat when it comes to creepy/scary movies, but this is one that I would watch religiously during the Halloween season. I would sometimes (silly me!) cover my eyes, especially when Max lights the black flame candle and resurrects the Sanderson sisters. Ugh. Hate that part. But, yeah, it’s still one of my ALL-TIME favorite Halloween movies, and I have it at my parents’ house on VHS and haven’t watched it in awhile, and plan on watching it this Halloween!!
Now, to the good part! 😉 Sunny of 365 Days of Color also cherishes her memories of the movie and the season, so she was inspired to make this collection based on the movie, and I have to say, “SPOT ON!” I love how she bottles up the memories/symbolism into the nail polish! I was sent Boouk and Black Flame Candle for review.
Let’s start with Boouk, Boouk is the magic spell book that the children stole from the witches, and here’s what it looks like:
I think that the nail polish is spot on because it’s a flesh-colored jelly with copper hexes thrown about. Pretty! 3 coats shown below.
Black Flame Candle is the candle that resurrected the Sanderson sisters.
This polish is AH-MAZING. It’s a black jelly with GREAT coverage (3 coats shown below) and has micro glitters that change from silver to green to flashes of pinks and purples. I tried really hard to get this on camera, and this is the best I could do. I also mattefied it using my brand new Butter London Matte Coat (which took forever to mattefy compared to other matte top coats I’ve used) and you could REALLY see the sparkle there! 🙂
Then with the matte coat:
This collection will be up on September 21st! The time has not been revealed yet! HERE is her shop’s link!!
So, again, to check out swatches, reviews, sneak peeks, you can go to her Facebook Page.
For her blog, which I absolutely stalk because I love all the awesome nail art she does and she does something different everyday, hence the name 365 Days of Color, you can check her blog out HERE.
