I was once again pretty disappointed with my Birchbox, but of course, I am not unsubscribing only because I know once I do, they will suddenly improve, as per my luck! As I was opening it, I was pretty sure I was going to be disappointed, so I went into it with the right head. 

I did not understand how these “deluxe” samples were Gossip Girl-related considering the girls are mod and fashionable in the Big Apple, and guess what? I’ve never seen the show. EVER. I know I’m committing TV sin, but the reason I do so is because I will only begin watching it once it has enough seasons for me to go through it and not have to wait for a season. That’s just how I work.

 

Anyway, let’s get to the contents of my May Birchbox.

First, I got a perfume sample of Arquiste, which smells like flowers, and no bueno. That’s all I am going to say about it.

Second, I got a sample of Caudalie, a hand and nail cream, which was actually really nice. It had a gorgeous citrus smell. The only bummer was that it WILL be finished in maybe one more use. It was not greasy, and that was a good thing for me. 

The next sample was actually a full-size product. It was a LipFusion Balm. I *LOVED* the fact that it was full-size, but the feeling on the lips is heavy and I had to wipe it off. I didn’t like that at all. I will continue using my eos lip balms.

The Ojon Restorative Conditioner went immediately upstairs with me when I saw it, so I could go ahead and try it out. I love conditioners, don’t get me wrong! I felt a little annoyed about getting restorative conditioner because my hair is not damaged. It is fine, but NOT damaged. Oh well. I went ahead and used it the night I received it, and I was really, really mad about the fact that it made my roots oily and my hair flat. Super dumb.

The lifestyle extra I got was a notecard AND an envelope, and you can imagine how upset I was about that. Sure, Gossip Girl may be about eloquent girls, but seriously, a notecard??

So, that’s my May Birchbox, and Gossip Girl “so-called” box. Boo. I give it TWO thumbs-down! Did you get a Birchbox this month? What did you get and are you happy about it?
