China Glaze Lemon Fizz vs. Julep Blake

Here’s yet another comparison for you, and after looking at this one, I can quite easily yell: DUPE ALERT!!!!!

I got Blake in my St. Patrick’s Day Mystery Box(es). As soon as I set eyes on it, I immediately *KNEW* it was the dupe for China Glaze Lemon Fizz, but to be sure, I swatched them both, and I cannot tell the difference, can you?

Formula-wise, they are both very similar!

Lemon Fizz is runny yet thick making it difficult to dry. See here for more on Lemon Fizz.

Julep Blake is runny and thin, and I liked it better because it didn’t become a thick hot mess on my nails, and dried faster, of course. It looks EXACTLY the same, and if you compare them pricewise, Julep is definitely the expensive one ringing up at $14, while China Glaze runs from $3 – 8. So, I don’t know which one you’d rather have if you had the choice. What do you think? Does expensive necessarily mean better formula, better everything?

  1. Pretty colours though, and they look good on you!

  2. Oh evil dupes! Sometimes they are unavoidable 🙁 I would have to go with China Glaze over Julep for costs reasons though. I have a few Julep that I had purchased through discounts, and I just got my Spring Mystery Box today, they are good polishes with great formula but I don’t think they are worthy of the $14 price tag :/

    • I agree with you wholeheartedly! Even though, Lemon Fizz gives me grief, I still stick to it! Julep is SO SO expensive! I am glad they have all sorts of promos, though! 🙂 What did you get in your Mystery Box?!? I am curious to see!! 🙂

      • Not too happy with my mystery box. I was hoping for bright spring colors. I received Gayle, Kelly and Melissa. I’m more happy about the clear top coat and the cuticle oil that came with it. But I’m a sucker for these things and will probably buy their next mystery box too haha.

      • Ahhh! I know, I was more excited about the cuticle oil, scrub, and lotions, too!
