Julep Nail Appliques (Rivets)

My Beach and Surf Zoya Giveaway (Win ONE of YOUR CHOICE)  is still open! Enter away! Ends April 12th!

The winner for the Sinful Colors polishes and Half-Full (my book) Giveaway is: …. BreAnn! Congratulations! 🙂

These nail appliques came to me in my BIGGEST St. Patrick’s Day Mystery Box(es). I’ve been pondering the moment I’d try them on, and I decided now was the time. My son had to get his 6 months immunizations, and so he’s been clinging to me like a little ‘roo. So, I figured I needed a manicure that was quick and didn’t require a drying time.

I’m not so sure I was impressed by this. I really was bummed that I did not get the Peacock Nail Appliques. They are stunning! But, I can’t really complain since I got the $200 box! Woohoo! Anyways, I followed the directions on the back of the packet, and I still lost one applique because the backing stayed on. Boo! I still had enough to go, but I was pretty sad about this. The rest, I matched with my nails and applied. They are stickers, pretty much, and you just hang it over the top of your nail and file off. Easy enough! I really liked that they were not thin and hard to apply like the Sally Hansen nail strips (but I do have to re-try those!) and they were pretty designs WITH embellishments! What I disliked was the fact that it did not evenly file from the top of the nail. I did not seal with a top coat because I wasn’t thrilled with it on me, and also realized that the tattered edges would cause it to pull of easily, anyway. All in all, I would NOT buy this for $14. I’m really grateful to get to try them, though! 🙂

What do you think? Do you like nail appliques? Which ones were easy to use for you? Have you tried these and did they work well for you? Let me know! I’d love to hear about your experience!
