Sure, the Alfredo sauce isn’t going to be too healthy, but as long as you control your portions, you should be able to enjoy your pasta and keep your waist slim too.
You can pretty much use any Whole Wheat pasta of your choice. I used Whole Wheat Spaghetti above, as you can see.
Your choice of Whole Wheat Pasta
1 tbsp of Melted Butter (I use Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter)
1 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 carton Half & Half or 1 small carton of 2% milk (I used 2% milk – Half & Half just makes it creamier)
1/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup of Shredded Pizza Cheese from your Local Grocery Store (Has Provolone, Mozzarella, and all the good cheeses)
1 tbsp of Garlic
1 tbsp of Italian Seasonings
5 oz of Spinach
In a pot, boil your pasta as per directions. In a separate pot, put down your butter, allow it to melt with the garlic and Italian Seasoning. If you’re feeling up for it, you can also put down chili flakes, but it’s fine without, too. When the garlic is sauteed in the butter, add the milk or the Half & Half. Then, add the Parmesan cheese and the Shredded Cheese. Put the Spinach in the sauce and let it wilt in it. Allow it to boil. It should thicken upon cooling. Add the pasta in, stir, and enjoy! 🙂
