Virtual Realities.

A fad that came out during my junior high years (1996 -1998)  or something like that! I do remember that this Japanese toy, Tamagotchi, created craze for all. I also remember that I got my parents to get me and my brother one! I had a white one, and it was a baby monster-like creature. I took care of it, fed it, cleaned it, and all the business it took to take care of a virtual pet. I can’t seem to remember if I took it to school, but I know I never found it again. I’m not sure if I lost it at school or lost it during a move to Houston after 7th grade.

Whatever it is, I found solace with Sims, which made me a little more responsible because I had to take care of a person, and then eventually, their family. My favorite part in that game was building and decorating their houses. I definitely used cheats because I realized that just like the real world, you’re going to need lots of money to give the people what they want. 🙂 Of course, Sims was during my high school and college years, and I couldn’t let it affect my education, so I had to part with it. The addictiveness of these games made me realize that I should just focus on my real-life pets and my real-life families and get satisfaction out of that! And, I must say, I am quite happy decorating a real-life home, cooking and taking care of my real-life family! 🙂
