Yesterday was one of our big holidays called Dussehra. It’s mainly all about good’s victory over evil!

In India, they celebrate by burning a gigantic statue of Raavan, who had abducted Lord Ram’s wife Sita. Lord Ram, his brother Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman also fought a great battle against Raavan and killed him successfully proving Good vs. Evil. Diwali, our biggest holiday, proceeds after 20 days.

As a kid, I remember holidays were celebrated so much like they would have been celebrated in India, which made me grow quite close to the religion and culture. This time of year + American holidays were a huge plus because the 2nd half of the year was made up of all the wonderful holidays, and I can proudly say I love celebrating both!
