Germs are all around us, and that means cold and flu season is upon us. No one enjoys the feeling of being sick. The only way to get better during winter colds and the dreaded flu is plenty of rest, comfort food, and entertainment. As a child, I survived on movies and an assortment of games during illness, but there are so much more fun (and brainy – namely, strategic, intellectual, and creative) ways to get through these icky sickies. For this reason, you need a one-stop-shop for all your #SickDaySolutions, and I found that in my local Fred Meyer. Not only do they have all the items that make me and my family feel better when we’re under the weather, but they also have arts and crafts to help me put together games for myself and my family.

Along with the flu shot, my job as Mommy means I need to keep our medicine cabinet stocked at all times. This prevents me from having to run out to the nearest store with any icky sicky germs. Preparation is key. When carting my way aisle after aisle through my Fred Meyer, I like to pick and choose the key items for my medicine cabinet and pantry.

As a child, Campbell’s® Chicken Noodle Soup 22.4 oz. Family Size got me through so many colds and flus that it has become a staple in our pantry. The soups’ warmth provides a certain comfort and heat that makes a cold, wintry day or night perfect. They go hand-in-hand with Nabisco PREMIUM Original Saltine Cracker*, which are not only great with dip, snacking, and entertaining but are wellness crackers for upset tummies.

* Serving Suggestion

Speaking of upset tummies, Lipton Soothe Your Tummy are an herbal supplement boosted with botanicals. Lipton Soothe Your Tummy contains a blend of ginger, peppermint, and fennel and is also caffeine free.

Theraflu gives powerful relief without prescription, which is a bonus since the flu can be debilitating and a quick fix can always give you just the right amount of energy.

When a child gets sick, the worst feeling you can get is feeling helpless. That’s why I like to keep Children’s TYLENOL® Grape at hand. Best known as a fever reducer, it also helps calm runny noses, headaches, and coughs temporarily.

My other necessity for sick days and nights are a homemade game, such as my DIY Germs Tic-Tac-Toe. It’s a cute way to make germs look good, even though they may be making you feel ragged. So, follow along to see how to distract your child(ren) and yourself to a healthier them (or you).

Step 6: Open the wooden pencil box and add 4 popsicle sticks on inside in the hashtag form.

Step 7: Create a corral for both teams using half popsicle sticks hot glued on its side. Organize the pom poms in each corral.
