ColourPop Valentine’s Day Collection Swatches and Review

What’s better than a dozen roses and a box of chocolates? Makeup, of course. So, first off, thanks to the Hubs for getting me EVERY.SINGLE.PIECE. of  the adorable ColourPop Valentine’s Day Collection, which has so many pieces and sold out quickly, but I decided that since the pressed powder duos are now being sold separately that this is the perfect time to share the swatches with you (and discuss my first time using them). The only difference is that there are no face looks for the pressed powders (there are 10, and I wanted this to go up shortly after Valentine’s Day for those of you who were curious about swatches, etc.  It’s absolutely cute and everything you think of when you think Valentine’s Day!

Keeper

Top to Bottom: The One, Co-Pilot, Cuddle Buddy, and Keeper

For the look below, I used Cuddle Buddy on the eyelid and used  Co-Pilot on the outer lid. Keeper was used in the crease, and The One was used to highlight the brow bone. Pooky Bear is on the lips. And, Tough Love is on the face.

Angled Eyeliner Brush, Blending Brush, and Shading Brush

The brushes are so fluffy, soft, and remind me of the E.L.F. brushes. I’m really excited for these brushes, but I will continue using my fingers for the Super Shock Shadows, and use these for the pressed powders instead! I do hope they come out with a fan/stipple brush for highlighters, though, although I do prefer using my fingers to apply the highlighters because it really brings out the glow.

This collection is amazingly big and beautiful. Bold, too! Although I have not tried the pressed powders or Baby Talk/Fooling Around Super Shock Shadows on my eyes yet (I do intend to, and once I wear each duo, each look will be posted here, as well!), I do know that the pigmentation and blendability is terrific. Some of the pressed powders appear to have fall out (mainly the matte shades) but I believe that can be avoided with a simple tap of the brush. The red Super Shock Shadows are actually pigments (and if you’re sensitive to red pigments in makeup, steer clear!) and do stain, so make sure you wear a quality eye primer underneath. The Yes, No, Maybe So Quad is stellar! Although the quad is sold out, you can purchase the shades individually. The shades are beautiful, sparkly, blend beautifully AND last all day long without creasing! The Lippie Stix were reformulated and are creme formula. These are super rich and buttery, as you can see, and almost melt into your lips. In fact, I had to clean around them after applying because they melted around the edges of the bullet, too. They are lovely, creamy, and last about as long as lipgloss since they are the consistency of thick lipgloss but in OG lipstick form. The Short and Sweet Mini Size Kit is beautiful, but I can do without them being made into full-size (except for Schnookums – I love that one!). It was my first experience with the mini liquid lipsticks, and the applicator is awesome compared to the size of the lipsticks because I thought that a mini applicator would make it difficult to apply, but it was comparable to the full-size applicator. The Tough Love Highlighter is a light pink shimmer, which is what I usually look for in a highlighter, and can I say, I think I may have finally moved on from my favorite, Might Be, to Tough Love?! Are you going to pick up any of the products from this collection?!

What’s on YOUR list?!

  1. Wow, what a haul! You got everything! I especially love the Super Shock Vday shadow quad. I love that super shock formula. So I’m not in a rush to buy the pressed powder shadows though the shades are beautiful. Love the Vday highlighter that you got. And I want your necklace!!!!

  2. Keep your husband around. What a sweet and thoughtful gift. Most husbands wouldn’t get all these beauties for their wife. Of course you do love ColourPop so it’s a perfect gift.

  9. Hiii, love your swatches! It helps so much to decide which ones to choose for myself!

    • Yes, that post is way past pending. I currently use ColourPop Stomper eyeliner pencil as my eyebrow pencil. 😁
