Masks are a great way to pamper yourself at home. It gives you the feeling of a spa and leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed. Recently, I was given the opportunity to try Zakia’s Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask, which is a clay powder that you add water to and then apply to your face, body, and even hair (by adding the powder to your shampoo)!

A weekly mask with natural and organic clay from deep inside the Ancient Atlas Mountains of Morocco are the perfect skin treatment for cleaning, detoxifying, toning and rejuvenating. A facial mask treatment made from Ghassoul clay can be relaxing and give your skin a new healthy glow. Ghassoul clay’s most impressive properties in skin improvement are its capacity of absorption and adsorption due to its high level of ion exchange. Ghassoul is a mineral rich, light brown clay that blends extremely well with water making its application to the face and skin a smooth and delightful experience. Use on skin and hair – it even makes for a fabulous shampoo; mix a small amount of powder in your favorite shampoo – wash and rinse. Super cleansing!

Zakia's3My hands were in need of some TLC, so I used the Zakia’s Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask on them. I just added enough water to make a somewhat thin paste – think pancake batter. I applied and let dry before rinsing it off. My skin was definitely soft after using the mask, so I can’t wait to try it as an all-body mask and even in my shampoo, as recommended. Clay is definitely a great way to clean and is also antibacterial, as it acts as a sponge and removes bacteria wherever it is applied. The scent is just as you would expect – earthy and fresh. It is not a strong scent, so it should not be a factor.
