The weather where I am has been icky and rainy. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE the rain, but I kind of miss the Spring sunshine (but am happy about the rain washing allergies away!) I decided to bring out some colors for the dreary weather, so we will be talking about the NEW L.A. Girl Matte Pigment Glosses. I have two colors to share with you today: Rebel and Backstage. Let’s take a look!!

The doe foot applicator is great but it does not flex, which is probably best because the formula doesn’t dry super fast.

Once I applied Rebel, I thought, “Say it ain’t so! This looks JUST like Dose of Colors Berry Me! And, what do you know?! IT IS!

Also, you can see that Berry Me situated itself into my lip lines, but this is because in Winter, no matter what I do, my lips get a bit dry. The color is identical, yet the formula is not. Dose of Colors Berry Me is very mousse-like while L.A. Girl Rebel is more of a thick liquid/thin mousse. This color is gorgeous and as I wear Berry Me a lot, I was really excited to get Rebel PLUS it’s $5 + Shipping, while Dose of Colors is $18 + Shipping, so quite a bit of savings with the same effect!

L.A. Girl Backstage is such a GORGEOUS vampy brick red. I am IN LOVE with this shade and especially the flat finish it has. I applied chapstick on both just to show off HOW flat it dries off. These don’t have any particular scent or taste, and I really love the flat finish these have – they would really qualify as ultra-matte. I can’t wait to try more of these!

What do you think of these?

  8. WOW WOW WOW, those colors are insanely gorgeous!

  9. The colors are pretty but unfortunately I’m not a fan of matte lip color.

  10. Nice review, however, I like to know if this lasts after a meal? Say a meal with sauce -salad, pasta? If not, how does it fade? How does it look like when you touch up? Thanks. ?

    • Great questions! These do fade unevenly and when oil is involved. I was able to manage an iced coffee and salad and still have it on my lips. Touch ups definitely help it look back to normal. 🙂
