I am a Neon Fanatic – give me anything neon, and believe you me, you will see one happy girl. I have so many neon things – shoes, clothes, lipsticks, and of course, nail polish, so when I heard about the Sunsational Neons 2013 Collection, I was MORE excited about this than the holographic collection that was put out by China Glaze earlier this year! I picked 3 – Highlight of My Summer, Son of a Peach, and That’s Shore Bright. Shall we get to the swatches/review and end with a surprise?!
Okay, so let’s start off with mint delight, Highlight of My Summer. Well, to sum it up, it really WAS the Highlight of My Summer because I’ve been stalking Lime Crime for the “neon” mint, and this one looked like it came close and was easier to get my hands on, so I went ahead with it. Beautiful! It was definitely difficult to use just like most bloggers mentioned. It’s chalky and streaky, and since it dries satin matte, you need to move quick. I would suggest starting off with a thin coat and building up as best as you can. I managed to get it clean in 3 coats. Note: I topped all my swatches off with Dazzle Dry top coat (thick and gel-like, so any lumps you may see may be the top coat not the China Glaze.)
Next, we have Son of a Peach (love the name!!) because it’s hilarious and cute! As I live in the state of the peach, this hits close to home! 😉 Also, I am a HUGE fan of peach, and when it’s neon, you know I have to have it. This was a bit like Highlight of my Summer in formula, but 3 coats did it well and topped off with top coat.
Last but not least is the GORGEOUS That’s Shore Bright, a beautiful pink-toned purple bright. Not really a neon, but it’s Shore Bright. 😉 And, to my dismay, it was not coming out color accurate in the picture so I took a look at it and saw that it came close to the Lime Crime Opaque Lipsticks packaging, so I did a comparison photo, so you could see. And, if you HAVE the packaging, you can see and decide if that’s what you’re looking for.
The formula on this one was definitely the best of the 3. It went on smoothly, dries satin matte, and opaque in 2 – 3 coats. Also topped off with top coat.
Okay, now what you’ve been scrolling down for! 😉
